Broken noses are usually treated with ice and pain relief. Occasionally there is misalignment of the bones and cartiledge, which is easily fixed in a clincal setting -a doctor's office, not a hospital. Those need to be packed for a few days afterwards.

Rarely, there will be a pool of blood that needs to be drained. Sometimes it heals crooked and you have a hard time breathing until you get it fixed. But mostly it's painful and they can do nothing.
